It seems the Austrians have a thing about bathrooms. Alpencamping Nenzing‘s bathrooms would have fitted right into any of the five-star Tirolean hotels in the area. The facilities were inside a building that looked just like a chalet decorated with antique furniture from the region and there was even a fireplace. The delightful children’s shower featured porcelain clowns. There’s something else I will never forget about this campsite: the restaurant. We had no idea the campsite restaurant was so popular with the locals. It was always packed solid and if you turned up without a reservation and happened to find yourself a table the waiters would ignore you. Having said that, when we eventually got served, after practically begging the staff to take note of us, the food was delicious and the setting was idyllic. There is also a small but perfectly formed indoor/outdoor swimming pool. (Visited in May 2012)
